Rams Head On Stage Brings World-Class To Our Backyard

One of the neat things about Anne Arundel County is the proximity to everything. Philadelphia, New York, Washington, and Baltimore are all meccas for entertainment and they are all a relatively easy drive. But to get world-class entertainment, you may not need to go that far. Nor do you need to break the bank on Broadway-priced tickets.

Rams Head On Stage is a small intimate venue right on West Street in the heart of Downtown Annapolis. Pat Metheny, Billy Ocean, and John Hiatt are some of the superstars that will be appearing in the coming weeks. Those are the obvious ones. But what about the other names that fill in the resto fo their calendar? Last week, we found out what you were missing.

A Silent Film

A Silent Film is a 4 piece alternative rock band from Oxford England. The band consists of Robert Stevenson (vocals/piano), Karl Bareham (guitar), Ali Hussain (bass) and Spencer Walker (drums). Their first album, ‘A City That Sleeps‘, was released on October 6, 2008 with reviewers describing it as ‘a surefire winner’. We think so too.  Check them out (all images © 2012, Glenn Miller Photography):

Anchor & Braille

Anchor & Braille was conceived when Stephen Christian of Anberlin realized that he had written many songs that he knew Anberlin could never use. The songs were said to have a different feel from Anberlin’s material and the lyrics were topics that he felt more personal, which he was not ready at that time to share on a mass platform. Rams Head On Stage proved to be a perfect venue to see him perform.

These two groups performed on Monday, July 23, 2012 for a $15 admission. Both will be names that you will be hearing a lot more often. Take a closer look at our own backyard and see someone like Chatham County Line, Sons of Bill, or Joe Robinson–you will likely be pleasantly surprised!
