English: The dock or harbor in Annapolis, Maryland. Dock Street is just out of the frame of the photo to the right. Folks leaving their boats tied up here would step right out into the street. The Maryland State Capitol is the tall tower in the distance. At the end of the street/harbor is a set of statues showing Alex Haley (author) reading to children. His ancestor Kunte Kinte landed in the harbor as a slave coming from Africa, according to Haley (and historical markers near the statues). (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
