Upcoming AACC Exhibit Features Healing Art

An inspiring exhibit, “Through the Rabbit Hole, Visionary Healing Art,” takes residence June 4-28 at Anne Arundel Community College’s Pascal Center for Performing Arts Gallery.

Sponsored by Arundel Lodge Inc., the exhibit showcases watercolor and acrylic paintings, weavings, mixed media pieces and visual journals created by Anne Arundel County residents participating in the organization’s art program. The mission of the art program is to create a safe, supportive community of artists where people can explore, express, and recover through classroom, studio and gallery programs in the visual arts. Arundel Lodge helps those with serious mental illness respectfully inspire and support each other in their recovery journey.

A free reception for the artists, their families and the community takes place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, in the gallery.

Participating in the show are: Diane Armstrong, Marisa Bolan, Michelle Brookshire, Lisa Dahl, Robert Depew, James Glasgow, Beverly Hancock, Lee Hanson, Liz Hooper, Colin Lacey, Leah Loebner, Bert Lundgren, Christian McCarrol , Solomon McQueen, Margaret O’Brien, Sheryl Perez, Heidi Richardson, Hasheem Rideout, Frankie Schlosser, Louis Snowden and Marie Williams.
