Thousands Flood To Casino Grand Opening. High rollers and curiosity-seekers alike went “all-in” Wednesday night as thousands of slots, electronic table games and new eateries opened in the state’s newest and biggest casino, Maryland Live, at Arundel Mills.  11 News reporter Sheldon Dutes said thousands of people waited for hours Wednesday to get in for the grand opening, even though many went home because they said they were frustrated that they couldn’t get in because of the large crowds.

Maryland’s Top Cop Maintains Two Residences. Is the state’s top cop only a part-time Maryland resident? The 11 News I-Team asks the question. The governor insists Maryland State Police Superintendent Marcus Brown’s home is Maryland, but he and his family are receiving tax breaks for claiming primary residences in two different states, I-Team lead investigative reporter Jayne Miller said Wednesday.

Man Sought In Connection With Annapolis Sex Assault. Police in Annapolis have released surveillance video of a man who they said was near the area of a reported sexual assault in the city’s busy downtown district last month. The assault was reported May 19 in the 100 block of Duke of Gloucester Street.  A 21-year-old woman told police she left some bars along West Street, about 1:30 a.m., and was walking along when she was grabbed by a man, pulled into an alleyway and sexually assaulted before the man ran away.

Ocean City’s ‘Song Of Summer’ Contest Open To Public.   Ocean City is looking for its 2012 song of summer, and town officials are holding a contest for someone to write it. The Song of Summer Contest will launch through Facebook starting June 11. Residents and visitors are being asked to write an original song about Ocean City.
