County Workers Accused In Gas Theft.  Two government employees are accused of stealing gas from Anne Arundel County vehicles. On Tuesday, police arrested Preston Walter Perry, 44, of Lothian, and Jodie Frank Harbert, 44, of Glen Burnie. Lothian was charged with theft charges, and Harbert was also charged with a theft scheme charge. Police said the arrests stem from an investigation that started in April into unusually high gas usage by two employees.

Job Seekers Encouraged To Attend Free Job Fair. National Career Fairs is holding a job fair in Baltimore on Thursday. The event takes place at the Four Points by Sheraton BWI Airport at 7032 Elm Road from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Job seekers will have an opportunity to meet face to face with dozens of employers such as Maryland Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, Shoe City/ESCO Ltd., M.C. Dean, Inc. and Aflac all of whom are currently hiring. Other companies are also expected at the event.

Anne Arundel Police Seek Selby Sub Shop Burglar.  Anne Arundel County police are asking for the public’s help to identify a burglar. Police said a man was captured on video surveillance breaking into the Selby Sub Shoppe located at 827 East Central Avenue in Edgewater at 1:40 a.m. on June 9. The vehicle the burglar used is described as a late 90s to early 2000s model Ford Econoline van with the front license plate attached to the left front bumper.

Firefighters Reprimanded Over Facebook Comments Lose Appeal. Four volunteer firefighters in Bel Air who were reprimanded for improper posts they put on Facebook last month have lost appeals they had made countering the disciplinary action. WBAL-TV 11 News reported in May that a member of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company posted a complaint about a Sonic restaurant that was offering discounts to military members and police officers but not firefighters.
