2-Alarm Fire Damages Pasadena Home.  Firefighters called for two alarms Thursday afternoon in a fire that caused extensive damage to a house in Anne Arundel County. Firefighters were called shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday to the 400 block of Virginia Avenue in the Lake Shore area of Pasadena, where they found heavy fire coming from the roof and back of the house, fire officials said. Officials called the second alarm a short time later, mainly because of heat issues.

Dead Zones In Bay Improve. Chesapeake Bay dead zones are down this June from last spring when heavy rains pushed them to levels not seen in decades. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources said samples collected in early June show 12 percent of the bay’s main stem had low oxygen levels, down from the same period last spring when a third had levels too low for life. The long-term average is 17 percent.

Man, 44, Robbed In Glen Burnie.  Authorities are looking for three men in connection to a robbery in Glen Burnie. It happened in 7800 block of Parke West Drive at about 3:47 a.m. on Thursday. Police said a 44-year-old man said he was walking to his apartment when he was approached by three men who assaulted him and took his wallet. Police said the assailants pulled up to the victim in a car, exited the car and requested a cigarette from the victim. One of the men suddenly lunged at the victim, who ran towards the back of the apartments, where he tripped and fell to the ground. At that time, the assailants caught up to the victim and began kicking him.

3 Men Caught Smoking Pot At Ocean City Police Station.  Ocean City police said they caught three men smoking pot in the parking lot of their headquarters. Officers were in the parking lot of the Public Safety Building in the process of their shift change at about 8 a.m. on Tuesday when they noticed a black Hyundai with the windows down and three men in and around the vehicle.
