Crofton Man Arrested For Impersonating Cop

Anthony Kevin Mastrogiovanni of Crofton has been arrested for impersonating a police officer. According to charging documents, Mastrogiovanni attempted to pull over a vehicle on Route 301 in Upper Marlboro utilizing red and blue flashing emergency lights. Unfortunately for Mastrogiovanni, the car he was pulling over was a Capitol Heights police officer in his personal car.

The real officer identified himself and Mastrogiovanni continued with the charade and told him that he was a military police officer from Louisiana. The real officer advised that Mastrogiovanni had no jurisdiction. Mastrogiovanni left the scene with the officer behind. Eventually, Mastrogiovanni was pulled over by Prince Georges County police and issued several citations.  He was charged with impersonating an officer today.

It is unknown if Mastrogiovanni is indeed a military police officer. However, his address according to court records is East Hand Court in Crofton–not Louisiana.
