Celebrate Father’s Day With The Baysox And WRNR 103.1

Bowie Baysox

Bring the whole family out to celebrate dad and take advantage of the first opportunity this season to Meet the Team. After the game, Everest will play a one-hour concert presented by WRNR 103.1.

The post-game concert will be free to attend for anyone who purchased a ticket to the Baysox game on Father’s Day and will take place in the picnic pavilion. The Los Angeles based Everest’s latest album “Ownerless” is scheduled to be released June 26. The band has teamed up with WRNR 103.1 to play five shows around Maryland this summer, leading up to their album release.

“Everest is clearly a band on the rise. On their 3rd album, they have created a beautiful, uncompromising, collection of songs that will propel them to a new national awareness,” said WRNR Program Director Bob Waugh. “Truly an amazing live act, Neil Young has hand-picked Everest as an opening act on his next tour.”

Starting at 12:30 p.m., fans will be able to go down into the outfield to play catch and the Baysox players and coaches will also be available around the concourse to sign autographs and pose for pictures for 45 minutes.  Baysox pitching coach Kennie Steenstra and that day’s starting pitcher and catcher are not available for autographs.

There will also be a Father’s Day picnic being held in the Diamond View Restaurant. Stadium gates open at 12:30 p.m. and food is served from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.  The buffet includes tossed garden fresh salad, sliced top sirloin bbq beef, country fried chicken, a Dietz & Watson all beef hotdog station, triple play baked beans, macaroni & cheese, homemade corn bread, country chips, homemade cole slaw, and a cookie & and brownie tray. Iced tea, lemonade, and unlimited soft drinks are also included.

Baysox Group Events Coordinator Mickey Heckhaus is excited for the event. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Father’s Day with my dad than to go to a baseball game,” Heckhaus said. “Fans will have a chance to meet the team, play catch on the field with their dads and then there will be a special Father’s Day picnic for lunch.”

Tickets for the Father’s Day Picnic are $29.50 for adults, or $24.50 for Baysox ticket plan holders, $19 for children (6-12 years), $10 for children (3-5 years), and children 2 and under are free.  To ensure there is enough food for everyone, tickets must be ordered by 3 p.m. Monday, June 13.  For more information or to order tickets, fans may contact Mickey at(301) 464-4890 or [email protected].
