The Bowie Baysox announce today the Red, White and Boom All-American Independence Day Celebration at Prince George’s Stadium Wednesday, July 4, as the team takes on the Harrisburg Senators at 6:05 p.m.  The event features the popular Independence Day Barbecue, an apple pie eating contest, a display from a charitable organization that benefits veterans and an extended fireworks display.

Baysox Director of Marketing Brandan Kaiser looks forward to the event.  “Independence Day and baseball go hand-in-hand and we have a great show planned here at Prince George’s Stadium,” Kaiser said.  “Not only do we have our most exciting fireworks show of the season after the game, but there will be tons of fun ways to celebrate the holiday during the day, including the Independence Day picnic.”

Fans can enjoy the game along with a two-hour buffet at the annual Independence Day Picnic. The menu includes grilled all-beef hamburgers and hot dogs, corn on the cob, barbecue baked beans, crunchy chips, chilled watermelon and soft drinks.  The buffet is served from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and tickets are $27 for adults, $22 for children ages six to 12, $10 for children ages three to five and $22 for season ticket holders.  The picnic includes a general admission seat ticket for the games and fans can upgrade to reserved seat tickets for $4 each.  To order tickets for the picnic, fans can order online at www.baysox.com or contact Christopher Brent at(301) 464-4885 or [email protected] by 3 p.m. Monday, July 2.
