Defense Secretary Addresses New Naval Officers. The Pentagon chief said Tuesday building U.S. maritime strength across the Asia-Pacific region will be one of the main projects for the new generation of America’s naval officers. Speaking to graduates at the U.S. Naval Academy, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said the U.S. is returning to its maritime roots. “One of the key projects that your generation will have to face is sustaining and enhancing American strength across the great maritime region of the Pacific,” he said. Man Accused Of Stabbing Girlfriend, Her Son.  Police in Anne Arundel County arrested two people in connection with the stabbing of a woman and her teenage son in Glen Burnie over the weekend.  Officers were called to the 300 block of Highland Drive about 10 p.m. Saturday after getting reports of a stabbing and a gun going off at that location.

Henson To Pay $1M Fine In Robocall Voter Suppression Case. A U.S. District Court judge has ordered Julius Henson, who was convicted of conspiracy arising from robocalls aimed at keeping black voters from the polls in 2010, to pay the state of Maryland more than $1 million. Henson, his company Universal Elections Inc., and an employee, Rhonda Russell, who recorded the calls, must pay the damages, according to the order.
