Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation (AAWDC) announces Back-to-Work Week from May 16-22, 2012, designed to help Anne Arundel County residents seeking employment prepare for the Fort Meade Community Job Fair on May 23, where more than 87 employers from various industries will be interviewing and hiring.

According to AAWDC President and CEO Kirkland J. Murray, “With the changing economy, businesses are looking to hire again. In fact, as of May 7, more than 13,000 job openings in Anne Arundel County alone are listed on the Maryland Workforce Exchange,” a database of available jobs in the state. “The week’s events will give Anne Arundel County residents the edge they need in a competitive job market.” Back-to-Work Week is a series of FREE workshops and business panel events at locations throughout the County to support job seekers in their search efforts, whether for the Job Fair or beyond.

Workshops are open to all levels of job seekers and include “What Employers Really Want,” “How to Work a Job Fair,” “Resume Renovation,” “Networking with Confidence,” “Federal Job Application Process,” Mapping Your Job Search,” “Interviewing Skills” and more.

Job Fair Employers will be offering entry- to senior-level positions in information technology, health care, energy, business management, construction, human services, office administration and sales. For details on Back-to-Work Week and to view a list of Job Fair Employers, visit www.aawdc.org or call 410-987-3890.
