Police: Man Tried To Neuter Dog With Rubber Band. Police in Anne Arundel County are investigating a case of animal cruelty in which officials said a dog’s owner tried to neuter the pet without proper help. Animal Control officials were called to the 8000 block of Sebring Court in Severn on Friday after getting an anonymous call about a person trying to neuter a male dog.

Remains Identified As Missing Woman. Howard County police said skeletal remains found at a home in Elkridge earlier this week have been positively identified as those of a woman who disappeared more than 20 years ago. Police arrested Robert Jarrett, 57, and charged him with murder in the death of his wife, Christine, after the remains were found at his home earlier this week.

Police: Mom Stabs Infant Daughter At DSS. Baltimore City police are investigating how a mother was able to enter a Department of Social Services building with a knife that she later used to stab her infant child. The stabbing occurred at the DSS building in the 3000 block of East Biddle Street shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday.  Officers said when they arrived they found a child, who is about 8 months old, with multiple stab wounds to the chest and neck.

Afternoon Stroll Ends With Terrifying Slip. Baltimore City firefighters had to bring out a hoist in order to lift a woman out of a ravine near the Jones Falls Expressway. A group of women were walking in an area near Falls Road and Clipper Mill Road at about 5 p.m. Tuesday when one of them apparently slipped and fell down a ravine.
