Cyberbullying Hot Topic At Conference. Students from four Baltimore County Catholic independent schools came face-to-face with diversity Thursday at Maryvale Preparatory’s first conference on respecting one another. What sounded like a typical classroom lecture was really a lesson for some of the area’s most socially conscience students. The point: creating role models who will teach their fellow classmates and humanity to be more accepting of others.

Syringe Used To Rob Pharmacy. Police in Howard County are searching for a man who they said used a syringe as a weapon to steal prescription medications from a pharmacy. The incident happened at a CVS in the 3300 block of Centennial Lane in Ellicott City on Wednesday night. Police said a white man in his 40s walked up to the pharmacy counter and threatened the pharmacist with a hypodermic needle.

Sweetlife Festival Ready To Roll Into Merriweather. There’s more amazing food coupled with rockin’ music at this year’s Sweetlife Festival, which combines sustainability with a good time. Sweetgreen’s second-annual Sweetlife Festival is big, green, tastes delicious and offers a soundtrack of some of the music industry’s most innovative up-and-coming artists — and it’s coming to Maryland on April 28.

Decanter Wine Festival This Weekend. There’s still a month to go before Preakness, but horse racing fans can hit the infield early this weekend for a chance to catch the races and drink some wine. The second annual Decanter Wine Festival will be held from 12-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.
