Tiny Toes in the Studio will make classical dance and literature accessible to preschoolers, enabling children to express themselves through creative movement in a safe, intimate and comfortable setting. Tiny Toes in the Studio creates a new model for children to develop knowledge, skills, attitudes and inspiration about dance, music, theatre and other art forms that integrate and reinforce core skills in subjects such as pre-reading, social studies and math through arts integration.

BTM’s Artistic Director Dianna Cuatto is enthusiastic about the Tiny Toes program saying “We believe this is a strong program that will develop lasting benefits for children.”

The grant from the PNC Foundation, which receives its principal funding from the PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: PNC), will allow BTM to offer a four-part series to enable lasting change in teachers’ skills and children’s development through Teacher Workshops, Tiny Toes studio programs and classroom performances.

“Research shows that an arts-rich educational environment helps children to succeed in school and in life,” said Louis R. Cestello, PNC Greater Maryland regional president, speaking on behalf of the PNC Foundation. “Our investment represents a commitment to the vibrant and diverse cultural energy that is uniquely Maryland.”

The PNC Foundation, which receives its principal funding from The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: PNC), actively supports organizations that provide services for the benefit of communities in which it has a significant presence. The foundation focuses its philanthropic mission on early childhood education and community and economic development, which includes the arts and culture.
