Annapolis Run For Shelter & 5th Annual Jogging Joe Shafran Memorial Run

On the morning of Sunday, September 30th, 2012, the Friends of the Light House Shelter will be hosting the second running of the Annapolis Run for Shelter which is a Half Marathon and the 5th Annual Jogging Joe Shafran Memorial Run which is a 4.2 mile Fun Race.  The run will be along the scenic trails of Quiet Waters Park and through the beautiful Chesapeake Bay front neighborhood of Hillsmere Shores.  This race is unlike any other in the greater Annapolis area in that all proceeds from the Annapolis Run for Shelter will benefit the Light House Shelter in Annapolis.

According to Craig Morrell, Event Chairman, “The community was so welcoming our first year.  We had over 220 participants and we expect a larger turn-out this year. The course provides a truly unique venue for the Half Marathon and Fun Race that is different from any other running race in town and of course it’s for a great cause.  Space is limited. We’re expecting the registration to fill up quickly.”

The Friends of the Light House Shelter is looking for lots of volunteers, sponsors and–of course– runners.  Visit Active.com or our website at www.friendslhs.org to sign up today!

The Annapolis Run for Shelter is supported by Annapolis Self Storage and other local businesses.
