Acclaimed Swedish Singer/Songwriter To Perform In Annapolis

Folk singer/songwriter Sofia Talvik, an acclaimed Swedish musician has announced one show in Annapolis during her 2012 national US tour. The show will take place on Saturday, May 12 at the Annapolitan Bed and Breakfast on West Street at 8pm.

The show will feature Talvik playing songs from her 2012 album, The Owls Are Not What They Seem, which has received rave reviews. According to Atlanta Retro, “Listening to her music, an otherworldly edge, surprising twists and powerful, haunting vocals make her much more than just another pretty folk-pop-acoustic performer.” Talvik, who owns her own record label based in Sweden, was the first Swedish female artist to ever play Lollapalooza.

John Holt, owner of the Annapolitan Bed and Breakfast aims to support the house concert scene by regularly hosting indie artists and bands at his property. “We love welcoming guests into our bed and breakfast, and music has always been a big part of that. We have plenty of space, so we thought hosting house concerts to support musicians would be the perfect fit for the Annapolitan. We are thrilled to host Sofia for our first concert.”

The acoustic performance will be held outside at the Annapolitan Bed and Breakfast, weather permitting (in the case of bad weather, the show will take place inside the bed and breakfast). Tickets are $10 per person, and can be reserved by emailing a request to [email protected]. Wine and beer will be available for purchase. Children’s tickets are available free of charge (twelve years old and under). Doors open at 7:00pm.
