John Leopold Indicted On Sex Allegations. Anne Arundel County Executive John Leopold was indicted on charges of misconduct in office on Friday, according to WBAL-TV 11 News I-Team lead investigative reporter Jayne Miller.A grand jury handed down the indictment , filed in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court, charging Leopold with misconduct in office on allegations that he misused his police security for his own political and personal benefit. Leopold is accused of inappropriately using county police officers to drive him to parking lots and wait for him while he got into another car and had sex with a county employee often two or three times a week during the second half of 2010.

Annapolis Photographer Who Captured ‘John-John’ Photo Dies. Some people may not know Stan Stearns by name, but many know his most famous photo. Stearns died this week at the age of 76.The photographer was born and raised in Annapolis and lived and worked by the motto, “I don’t take pictures; I create images.”Stearns was the photographer who captured John F. Kennedy Jr., then known as “John-John,” saluting at his father’s funeral procession. The image became one of the most famous images in American history.Skip Strovel met Sterans long ago at Chick and Ruth’s Deli.”They may not know Stan’s name, but everybody knows the picture,” Strovel said. “It was tough. It really was.”

International Women’s Festival Honors Mikulski.  One of the largest international woman’s organizations honored Maryland’s U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski on Saturday.Women of the World, which celebrates the leadership and talents of women from all over the world, held its three-day conference in Baltimore for the first time.Mikulski served as a featured guest speaker and celebrated a political milestone.”I’m the first Democratic woman ever elected to the Senate,” Mikulski said.On March 17, Mikulski will have served longer than any other woman in the U.S Congress. Her motto for people who are “firsts” is to not be the last.

Missing Girl, 13, Found Dead In NE Baltimore.  Police said the body of a missing 13-year-old girl has been found in northeast Baltimore.Family members identified the victim as Monae Turnage. They said she was out rollerskating with friends Saturday night, but she didn’t come home, so they reported her missing around 1 a.m. Sunday.”It’s not like her to not come home,” said Paulette Marshall, the victim’s aunt.Police said the girl’s body was found under some plastic trash bags by her own 16-year-old brother on Sunday in the 1600 block of Cliftview Avenue.
