Vehicle Strikes House Near Annapolis, Sparks Fire. A man suffered serious burns in an early-morning crash that sparked a fire in Anne Arundel County. Firefighters responded at about 4:30 a.m. to the 1200 block of Fort Hill Court, off Bay Ridge Road.Fire officials said a fire was sparked after a car struck a house.A 35-year-old man, who was the driver of the car and sole occupant, had to be cut from the vehicle.

University Of Maryland Student Charged In Rampage Threat. A University of Maryland student has been arrested and charged with posting an Internet threat claiming he planned to go on a shooting rampage on campus hoping to kill as many people as possible.Campus police said in a statement that Alexander Song, 19, of Fulton, was identified as the person who posted on a website plans for a rampage that would “kill enough people to make it to national news.” The message also warned people to “stay away from the mall.” Police did not elaborate.

Feds Approve Constellation-Exelon Merger. The federal government has approved the merger of Exelon and Constellation Energy, which means BGE customers will likely see some money back soon.BGE is one of the utilities that falls under the merger, which is expected to be complete as soon as Monday afternoon.BGE residential customers are expected to get a $100 credit within 90 days of the acquisition.Exelon is based in Chicago, but BGE will still be headquartered in Baltimore and will still operate as an independent entity. But the merger means there won’t be any Fortune 500 companies left in Baltimore.

O’Malley Likely To Veto Marijuana Bills.  Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley confirmed Friday that he will likely veto legislation that would allow the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes, citing concerns that the legislation could violate federal law based on criminal liability.
