Joanna Conti Calls For Leopold’s Resignation

We spoke with Joanna Conti, former candidate for County Executive who ran against John Leopold in 2010 regarding the indictment.  Throughout the campaign, many of Conti’s political signs had disappeared. This indictment alleges that on several occasions Leopold personally removed the signs.  We spoke with Ms Conti about the indictment and she offered the following statement:

Mr. Leopold’s alleged use of county employees for political work and personal errands is bad enough.  Requiring our professionally-trained police officers to wait around during his sexual trysts in parking lots and to empty his catheter is absolutely outrageous.  And with all the serious problems facing our county, I find it pathetic to think that John Leopold might have been spending his time stealing my signs.  If these charges are true, Mr. Leopold is not fit to hold office and should resign immediately.

Eye On Annapolis has also obtained a copy of the 9-page indictment which can be read here (PDF).
