59 County Schools Recognized

The Maryland State Department of Education has bestowed awards on 59 different public schools in Anne Arundel County for their achievement on the 2011 Maryland School Assessment (MSA) and High School Assessment (HSA) and for their improvement in performance among student groups between the 2010 and 2011 exams.
Each of the schools will receive certificates of recognition. The following schools were recognized for their overall performance:
● Arnold, Belvedere, Benfield, Bodkin, Cape St. Claire, Central, Crofton, Crofton Meadows, Crofton Woods, Davidsonville, Edgewater, Folger McKinsey, Four Seasons, Jones, Lake Shore, Linthicum, Mayo, Millersville, Nantucket, Pasadena, Pershing Hill, Piney Orchard, Ridgeway, Riviera Beach, Rolling Knolls, Seven Oaks, Severna Park, Shade Side, Shipley’s Choice, South Shore, Sunset, Tracey’s, Waugh Chapel, West Annapolis and Windsor Farm elementary schools;
● Central, Severn River, and Severna Park middle schools;
● Arundel, Broadneck, Chesapeake, Severna Park and South River high schools; and Chesapeake Science Point Public Charter School.
The following schools were recognized for their student group performance (some schools were noted in both categories):
● Arnold, Belle Grove, Belvedere, Brock Bridge, Cape St. Claire, Central, Crofton Meadows, Eastport, Edgewater, Folger McKinsey, Fort Smallwood, Freetown, Glendale, Jessup, Jones, Lake Shore, Linthicum, Marley, Millersville, Odenton, Pasadena, Ridgeway, Riviera Beach, Rolling Knolls, Shady Side, Shipley’s Choice, Solley, Tracey’s, Walter Mills-Parole, Waugh Chapel, West Annapolis, Windsor Farm, and Woodside elementary schools;
● Central, Severn River, and Severna Park middle schools;
● Chesapeake, Northeast, South River high schools;
● Monarch Academy.
