Former Employee Gets Life For Anne Arundel Dentist’s Murder. A former employee of an Anne Arundel County dentist was sentenced to life in prison for the man’s murder.Shontay Joyner Hickman accepted a life-in-prison plea agreement in the 2006 murder of Dr. Albert Ro. Her attorney, Warren Brown, said she did so in the hope she could return to her family one day. Just before she was sentenced on Monday, Hickman said she could not change what happened and that she made a horrible choice. In a quivering voice, Hickman apologized to Ro’s family, said 11 News I-Team reporter Barry Simms.
Experts: Gas Prices To Rise To $4 In May. Experts are predicting gas prices to rise to at least $4 a gallon by May but said it doesn’t have anything to do with Maryland lawmakers considering a gas tax raise.Just last week, gas prices have jumped 5 cents in Maryland and 10 cents nationwide. Drivers said they are shelling out 43 cents a gallon more now than they were this time last year.”This year, the price increase started sooner and has also been a bit more brisk than we typically see. Part of this might be about the fear of rising oil prices in the future,” said economist Anirban Basu.
Parents Warned Of “Pass Out Challenge” Game. School officials in Charles County are asking parents to be on the lookout for signs of a dangerous game that sent three students to hospitals last week.School principals in the area said an Internet game referred to as “the knockout or pass-out challenge” is gaining popularity among teens.They said students have also been seen by the school nurse for passing out.

Rodney Fisher has been coming to the Arundel House of Hope medical clinic in Glen Burnie for his care for the past several months.”Just routine treatment,” said Fisher. “Maybe physicals just to stay fit and healthy, to check on certain things that men need to keep up with their health, that type of things.”Fisher, like the clinic’s other patients, gets his medical treatment for free. The clinic is designed for people who live 200 percent or more below the poverty level and are uninsured or under-insured.
