Fire Crews Battle 2-Alarm Fire In Crofton.  Anne Arundel County firefighters battled a two-alarm house fire in Crofton on Sunday.Crews responded to a home in the 1400 block of Knightsbridge Turn at about 8:10 a.m. after multiple 911 calls were received reporting a house fire.Flames were seen on the roof line of the house, prompting a second alarm for additional equipment.

Families Of Injured Firefighters: They’re Communicating. The families of two firefighters injured while battling a house fire in Prince George’s County on Friday said they are doing OK.The parents of Kevin O’Toole, 22, and Ethan Sorrell, 21, spoke with reporters outside of Washington Hospital Center on Sunday, where the firefighters are still in critical but stable condition.

Senator Mikulski Receives Suspicious Package.  U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski’s office in Baltimore received a package containing a harmless powdery substance Friday.A representative for the senator, Rachel MacKnight, said the office received a suspicious envelope, and they reported it to police.Investigators described the contents as a harmless powdery substance.U.S. Capitol police alerted Senate offices this week that several Senators’ state offices have received similar letters.

Doomsday Budget? Tough Decisions Await Lawmakers In Maryland. A doomsday budget is being prepared in Annapolis, according to 11 News reporter David Collins.With what Collins called the hue and cry over tax increases, those putting together the budget want colleagues to make a choice: Draconian cuts or tax and fee increases.
