Arundel Police: 9 Year-Old Girl Reports Sexual AssaultAnne Arundel County police are investigating the reported sexual assault of a 9-year-old girl.The girl told officers that she was walking home from Lake Shore Elementary School last week when a man grabbed her and pulled her into a wooded area, where the sex offense reportedly occurred.

5 Injured In Gambrills Road Rage Incident. Five people were injured and one was charged with assault after an apparent road rage incident in the Gambrills area.Fire officials were called at about 4:30 p.m. Monday to the 700 block of Route 3 near Reidel Road for a report of a stabbing.Officers who got to the scene first said they found two heavily damaged vehicles in a drainage ditch near the Honda Power Sports dealership.

Anne Arundel County Council Votes 100+ Times For Replacement. After more than 100 voting sessions, there’s still no decision as to who will fill the vacant seat of ousted former Anne Arundel County Council member Darryl Jones.The chamber has voted 104 times, including three votes on Tuesday night, but each time, the vote remained split between former state Sen. Michael Wagner and Marine Reservist Peter Smith.Tuesday’s votes came on the heels of a racial slur made by a member during last week’s voting session.The indecision continues to leave more than 80,000 residents without representation.

Senate Committee Approves Same Sex Marriage Bill. A Senate committee on Tuesday voted in favor of sending Gov. Martin O’Malley’s same sex marriage bill to the Senate floor.11 News reporter David Collins said the vote was 7-4 and that supporters resisted two amendments that would have killed the bill, called the Civil Marriage Protection Act. Collins said debate could begin on the Senate floor as early as Wednesday and that the rejected amendments – along with other amendments – could come up in the Senate chamber.
