1 Killed, 1 Injured In Fiery Crofton Crash. One person was killed and another was injured in a fiery two-vehicle crash in Crofton.The crash closed southbound Route 3 at Reidel Road for the earliest part of the Thursday morning rush hour, but the road was reopened by 6:30 a.m.Anne Arundel County fire officials said that just after 2 a.m., a car rear-ended a tractor-trailer and burst into flames in front of the Village of Waugh Chapel Shopping Center.

Man Who Caused Manhunt In Annapolis Gets 4 Years For Escape.  A man who escaped from custody while in an Annapolis courtroom will spend four years in prison.Bonrick Barksdale, 25, escaped a holding cell in September after asking a guard for toilet paper.He was caught two days later.Barksdale also faces charges of first-degree sex offense and other crimes in North Carolina. O’Malley To Billys: I Got Your Letter. A Baltimore couple quietly suffering for more than five decades has heard from a governor’s aide that the governor himself is planning to write them a letter.  An antiquated law tore apart Shirley and John Billy in 1956 and put their child in an orphanage. At the time, officials indicted and arrested Shirley Billy after she became pregnant by John Billy, a black man.

Group Critical Of Teacher Pension ProposalLocal politicians are joining forces to fight Gov. Martin O’Malley’s budget proposal to shift the cost of teacher pensions back to Baltimore City and Maryland counties.11 News education reporter Tim Tooten said they’re calling it Stop the Shift, a slogan coined to try to get the attention of state lawmakers to strike down the pension proposal.
