Northeast High To Get Extended Spring Break

Students at Northeast High School in Pasadena will have an extra three days of Easter/Spring break as the school continues to undergo a $101 million renovation.

Classes have been conducted in the building while renovations have been ongoing, and the additional days are needed to allow for the relocation of furnishings into newly renovated areas of the building.

To accommodate the move and allow classrooms to be set up for instruction, the Maryland State Department of Education has granted a three- day waiver of the 180-school day requirement. There will be no classes for Northeast High School students on the following dates:

● Friday, March 30, 2012
● Tuesday, April 10, 2012
● Wednesday, April 11, 2012

Students will return to class on Thursday, April 12, 2012. Because of the waiver, Northeast students are still scheduled to end the school year on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, the same day as other county students.
