4 Dead In Route 50 Wrong-Way Crash. Four people were killed in a crash involving a wrong-way driver on U.S. Route 50 early Saturday, on a weekend in which several others died in unrelated incidents. A car traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of Route 50 collided head-on with another car in Anne Arundel County at about 3:30 a.m.Breanna Marie Franco and Zachary Tyler Rose, both 18, and Brittany Ann Walker, 19, were killed in the car traveling in the wrong direction, according to Maryland State Police. They were pronounced dead at the scene. State police said the young people’s car briefly ignited, and county firefighters were able to contain the fire to the engine compartment.

School Custodian Dies In Pasadena Crash.  A well-known custodian, Brian David McDevitt, 32, was suspected of driving under the influence in another Anne Arundel County accident. Police said McDevitt was traveling north on Fort Smallwood Road when his car spun out of control, crossing into oncoming traffic.McDevitt was pronounced dead at the scene. Brandon Patrick Malley, 18, and Spencer Anthony Blake, 19, were found with a BMW at the scene suffering from non-life threatening-injuries.

A beautiful sunrise extended its rays over the Chesapeake Bay early Saturday morning, but make no mistake, the water was far from warm.Still, about 50 Super Plungers kept plunging. Men, women, children and many Special Olympics athletes plunged into the cold waters of the bay every hour for 24 hours. “This is so amazing. I’m so impressed that all these people came out to help raise money and awareness for Special Olympic athletes,” said Adam Hays, a Special Olympics athlete.”It’s just an awesome experience. It brings joy to my heart that that community and the state are coming out and supporting us,” said Erica Wheeler, a Special Olympics athlete. “It makes me so happy that so many people care about us.”

3 Injured In Fire Truck Crash. Three people sustained minor injuries Friday when a fire truck headed to a reported fire collided with another vehicle.The truck collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard and Belle Grove Road, The Capital of Annapolis reported. County fire division chief Michael Cox said the truck from the Linthicum station was driving to a reported dwelling fire in Brooklyn Park when it hit another vehicle at about 5:30 p.m. The fire truck then hit a utility pole.
