Jones Takes Legal Steps To Retain His Council Seat
The Baltimore Sun is reporting that Anne Arundel County Councilman Daryl Jones has filed a restraining order to prevent the Anne Arundel County Council from going forward with their plans to remove him from office. According to Jones, “scores” of constituents are encouraging him to fight to retain his seat.
Jones was convicted of failing to file personal and corporate taxes for a period of six years. He is scheduled to report to a federal prison for five months at the end of January.
Jones is being represented by Linda Schuett, a former Anne Arundel County Attorney and the order is being considered by Circuit Court Judge Paul Hackner.

Jones is completely unfit to represent ANYONE in this county. He should have had the integrity and honor to step down the second a guilty verdict was returned. Of course, given his record, ‘integrity’ and ‘honor’ are things he does not possess. I hope the judge throws out his petition with extreme prejeduce.
