Everyone Can Serve: MLK Day In Annapolis

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said “Life’s most urgent and persistent question is: what are you doing for others?” On January 16, you can answer that question by joining with the Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County at the 2012 Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service at the Banneker-Douglass Museum in Annapolis.

“Everyone Can Serve: MLK Day in Annapolis” is one of thousands of projects taking place across the nation as part of this National Day of Service.

WHO:Families and individuals can volunteer for multiple nonprofit organizations at one central Annapolis location, the Banneker-Douglass Museum. Children 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

WHAT: In-door service projects will benefit the Banneker-Douglass Museum, Anne Arundel Conflict Resolution Center, Chesapeake Children’s Museum, Bello Machre, Creating Communities, Operation Welcome Home, Youth Volunteer Corps of the Corridor and more.

WHEN: Monday, January 16, 2012, from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Volunteers can sign up for 11:30 to 1:00, 1:00 to 2:30, or both time slots. Space is limited. Advance registration is required.
