Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival Announces Lineup

The 2012 Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival will be held on May 19th and 20that Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, Maryland. This year’s lineup includes: Jonny Lang, JJ Grey and Mofro, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Ruthie Foster, Shemekia Copeland, Philipp Fankhauser, Honey Island Swamp Band, Michael Williams Band, Janiva Magness and Lydia Pense and Cold Blood.

This will be Jonny Lang’s fifth appearance since his first time here in 1998 when he was all of 17 years old.  His fan base is still strong and continues to request his appearance at the festival.  Shemekia Copeland has become the Queen of the Chesapeake Bay Blues festival, marking her eighth appearance.  Other than Lydia Pense, who is making her second appearance, all of the remaining acts, including those not announced, will be performing for the first time at the festival.

The remainder of the lineup will be announced as soon as we have received confirmations from the artists.

About the festival:

The Chesapeake Bay Events (CBE) held its first festival in 1998.  It has quickly gained national notoriety as one of the premier Blues Festivals in the world.  Outside of providing top caliber entertainment, the festival also gives ALL net proceeds to charity.

Prior year’s recipients included Make-A-Wish of the Mid Atlantic and the USO.  This year the recipient charities will be: John Hopkins Cleft and Cranial Facial Children’s CAMP FACE, We Care and Friends, which is an organization providing a wide variety of services to the needy of Annapolis, and Camp Fantastic, a camp for children with cancer which is operated by Special Love, Inc.
