SOUPer Bowl For The Light House

Kick off your Super Bowl Sunday by doing something good for yourself and the community. Heritage Baptist Church is hosting the 6th Annual SOUPer Bowl Lunch for the Annapolis Light House Shelter on Sunday, February 5, from 11:30AM-1:30PM.

Guest servers include Maryland Speaker of the House Mike Busch and Annapolis City Council members Fred Paone, Shelia Finlayson and Classie Hoyle who will ladle tasty soups prepared by award-winning local Chef Zachary Pope of Roundz Gourmet Market & Catering at the church’s fellowship hall (1740 Forest Drive, Annapolis).

Menu soups are Chicken Noodle Soup, Baked Potato Soup and Chili. Guests will also enjoy salad, bread, drinks and cake. The public is invited and admission is free, but donations are requested to benefit the Light House Shelter for the Homeless.

All of the money collected will go directly to the shelter. “How often do you have lunch served to you by the Speaker of the House and city council members?” asked Rev. Henry Green. “That’s worth a donation right there!” “Homelessness is a growing problem in Anne Arundel County. We want to take every opportunity to help the Light House, so come on out and join us for a great lunch. You’ll help a worthy cause and still make it home in plenty of time for the kickoff. It’s a win/win event.”
