Rip Esselstyn, Best-Selling Author Of “The Engine 2 Diet” At Whole Foods

Rip Esselstyn, motivational best-selling author of “The Engine 2 Diet” is making a personal appearance at the Whole Foods Market at Annapolis Towne Centre, 200 Harker Place, in Annapolis the evening of Thursday, January 19, 2012, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Rip will be giving a lecture, signing copies of his book, The Engine 2 Diet, answering questions from participants and hosting a demonstration tasting event.

The 28-Day Engine 2 Challenge is a four-week program affiliated with the Health Starts Here program at Whole Foods Market at Annapolis Towne Centre. It is designed to help customers kick-start a healthy eating lifestyle.  The program is based on Rip Esselstyn’s national best-selling book, The Engine 2 Diet — a practical guide for eating PlantStrong.

A former firefighter and professional tri-athlete, Rip is well known for convincing the meat-eating firefighters at Engine 2 in Austin, Texas, to go on a plant-based diet to save their own lives. Several were overweight with dangerously high cholesterol levels. Though the Texans loved their barbeque and steaks — they also loved the idea of a longer, healthier life and went for it. Their amazing results formed the genesis of a pilot study, followed by The Engine 2 Diet book that now guides people around the world in eating PlantStrong.

By signing up to participate in a 28-Day Engine 2 Challenge, participants will join a group of people that come together for weekly support from a Whole Foods Market Healthy Eating Specialist. Through The Engine 2 Diet book and educational tools provided by a Healthy Eating Specialist, participants will gain delicious, heart-healthy recipes, learn new ways of cooking and how to read labels, and gain support in kicking off a new, PlantStrong lifestyle.

Rip will be speaking on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at the Whole Foods Market at Annapolis Towne Centre, from 6 to 9 p.m.
