Man Shot, Killed In Towson Town Center Parking Lot.  A man was shot and killed in the parking lot of Nordstrom’s at Towson Town Center on Monday evening, police said. Baltimore County police Detective Cathleen Batton said officers found the victim’s body lying on a sidewalk outside the east side of Nordstrom’s at about 6:30 p.m. Police officers and mall security searched the area and the mall for whoever shot the man.”They immediately went inside the mall to canvass the entire mall looking for someone who may look panicked or suspicious,” Baltimore County emergency spokeswoman Elise Armacost said.

Ron Smith Succumbs To Cancer At 70.  Ron Smith, who spent most of his life with the WBAL family, succumbed to pancreatic cancer Monday night. He was 70. Ron died at his home in Shrewsbury, Pa., surrounded by his wife, June, and the rest of his family. He is survived by his wife, June, 5 children and 7 grandchildren. Funeral services will be private. A public memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.In October, Smith announced on his WBAL 1090 AM radio show that he had been diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. In November, he elected to stop his chemotherapy treatments at Johns Hopkins Hospital and announced his retirement from broadcasting.

Mom Testifies In $1.3M Suit Against Schools. A boy’s complaints about bullying became constant and he suffered wounds, the child’s mother testified Monday in a $1.3 million lawsuit against the Baltimore City school system.Shawna Sullivan and her husband, Eddie, claim school officials did nothing to protect their children from bullying and harassment.The Sullivans said their son, a special needs student, seemed to enjoy going to school when he was enrolled at Glenmount Elementary, but within weeks, he started complaining about being hit or kicked.Shawna Sullivan testified that the complaints became constant, and she went to the school several times.

Gas Prices To Set Christmas Record. Average retail gas prices in Baltimore have fallen 4.5 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.15 per gallon on Sunday.Nationally, average prices have dropped 4.3 cents in the last week, according to the gasoline price website BaltimoreGasPrices.com. In Baltimore, prices are 17.7 cents per gallon higher than one year ago. Prices are 10.8 cents less than one month ago.”Gas prices across much of the nation continue their downward move, bringing the national average for a gallon down to its lowest level since late February,” said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.
