Armed Robbery Suspect Shot After Police Pursuit. An armed bank robbery suspect led police officers on a pursuit that ended in a shooting, police said.The pursuit began shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday in Anne Arundel County and took officers through Baltimore County and Baltimore City. Police said officers spotted a vehicle suspected in a bank robbery from Wednesday night and tried to stop it, but the driver, a 19-year-old man, kept going. The driver eventually got on Interstate 97 and flashed a handgun out the window.The pursuit ended near Virginia Avenue and Fenor Road in the Baltimore Highlands section of Baltimore County when the driver hit some police cars, investigators said.

Governor Now Supports Constellation-Exelon Deal. After bargaining concessions as a condition for his support, Gov. Martin O’Malley has reached a settlement in the proposed Constellation Energy and Exelon buyout deal.WBAL-TV 11 News I-Team reporter David Collins said despite the concessions, the agreement does not provide additional rate relief for consumers. O’Malley called the settlement good for Maryland because it satisfies three public interest goals: Reducing energy consumption; reducing greenhouse gases; increasing the state’s renewable energy portfolio.

Some Fake Pot Products Contain Dangerous Chemicals.  Products that mimic marijuana are on sale in Maryland stores, and at least one of the products contains a dangerous chemical.WBAL-TV 11 News I-Team reporter Mindy Basara reported about herbal incense, a chemically manufactured marijuana product that’s easy to find in Maryland.Fake pot is nothing new; it was once called K2 or Spice. Federal authorities have banned the five active ingredients, but it didn’t take long for chemists to alter the formula, replace the banned substances and put it back on the market, perfectly legal for anyone — even minors — to buy.

Sleek Logo Unveiled For 2012 Preakness. The Maryland Jockey Club unveiled the 2012 Preakness logo for the 137th running of the $1 million Preakness Stakes.For the 13th consecutive year, the Leffler Agency of Baltimore and Tampa designed the official Preakness logo. The agency’s Preakness designs have won major national awards five times.The 2012 Preakness logo depicts the horse and jockey as repeating stylized graphics with curved elements that convey movement. Overall, the logo uses the traditional Maryland colors of red, gold and black.
