Police Investigating Overnight Shooting In Crownsville

On December 24, 2011 at approximately 0316 hours, officers responded to the Anne Arundel Medical Center Emergency Room where a patient was being treated for a gunshot wound.  The victim, a 20-year-old male, and his 20-year-old female friend, initially indicated they were at a party earlier in the evening.  Both went outside briefly, heard a loud “bang” and everyone quickly left the party.  The victim and his friend also departed, but the male began to experience discomfort in his back during the journey home and realized he had been shot.  The victim and his friend drove to the hospital for treatment where the male’s wound was determined to be non-life threatening.

Officers determined the incident occurred on Summerhill Trailer Street, Crownsville, Maryland, but upon speaking further with the victim and his friend, additional details regarding this incident remain unclear.  Southern District Detectives are currently investigating, and no further details concerning the on-going investigation are being released at this time.
