For the 3rd year in a row, The Main Ingredient in Annapolis hosted a special Holiday dinner for the residents of the Light House. Over 50 residents were treated to a full, three course meal including their choice of entrée at the restaurant. Christina Rosetti, manager at the Main Ingredient, coordinated the event.
“This is the third year my staff and I have been active with the Light House shelter and each year I have more of a turnout with staff volunteering. We genuinely enjoy the interaction with the residents at the Light House and get such a sense of fulfillment out of helping bring a little festive cheer to their lives for an evening, explains Ms. Rosetti.
Hosting the dinner at the restaurant gives the residents of the Light House an opportunity to get out of their daily element, in which they could feel a part of society and have someone cater to their needs by customizing their dinner order and being waited on.
Ms. Rosetti continues, “the Light House has become such an important charity to assist around the holidays for me and I have been blessed in having my amazing staff embraced the same feelings. We enjoy the interaction with the Light House residents and it is a great feeling to give back to those who aren’t as fortunate as us this year. I love hearing all the success stories from the Light House programs in which these residents are able to reshape their lives, and if Main Ingredient can help for just a few hours during a tough patch in their lives, well then I helped to make a little difference.”
Located at 10 Hudson Street in Annapolis, The Light House: A Homeless Prevention Support Center, has been helping our most fragile Anne Arundel County citizens for nearly two decades.
