The Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) Foundation will host its signature fundraiser on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 Midnight at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Baltimore.  The theme for the 2012 gala is “Rhythm & Rouge,” supporting the AAMC Heart and Vascular Institute and its critical role in keeping the community healthy.

The AAMC Heart and Vascular Institute is a comprehensive program offering exceptional emergency, interventional and surgical care.  It features a dedicated Heart and Vascular Unit, vascular screening, surgery and treatment, cardiac-catheterization, interventional medicine, emergency angioplasty, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and interventional radiology.  It is also a participant in the C-PORT E program, offering elective angioplasty services to our community.  The AAMC Heart and Vascular Institute is nationally recognized as a standard for care and treatment of heart attack patients and is the recipient of the 2011 Gold Performance Achievement Award from the American College of Cardiology.

“Jill and I are very honored – and excited – to chair the 2012 Anne Arundel Medical Center Gala,” said Rick Springer, President, Chesapeake Region, BB&T, who with his wife, Jill, are co-chairs of the 2012 event.  “There are many things that make AAMC a unique healing environment – most notably the highly skilled doctors and compassionate staff.  But we could not do it without our friends in the community, supporters and benefactors. We look forward to being a part of this truly exceptional occasion.”

A new addition to the gala festivities this year will be an exclusive commissioned painting by well-known artist Liz Lind.  Lind’s work is a combination of many things — watercolor, gouache, pencil among other mediums.  As a result of her childhood experiences spending numerous summers at the beach, sunlight, sand and surf are the main elements that inspire Lind’s work.

All Liz Lind prints are limited editions.   Lind offers three artist proofs and three remarques for each image. Her signature is the last detail added to each print – she personally inspects each print to insure it meets her exacting standards.

The annual event is organized by a committee of volunteers in cooperation with the AAMC Foundation staff. Sponsorships start at $5,000 for a table of 10, and there are a variety of sponsorship packages and marketing opportunities available.  Festivities will include dinner, dancing to the live music of the band “Prime Time,” and silent and live auctions.

Heart disease continues to be the number one killer in the United States. To ensure AAMC and its Heart and Vascular Institute meet the needs of its patients today and tomorrow, the hospital is committed to attracting and retaining the best cardiovascular specialists, and utilizing the latest technology to increase treatment accuracy and reduce cost.
