Sex Offender Arrested In Edgewater Incident

Last week we reported about a suspicious person in the Edgewater area.  Anne Arundel County Police have questioned the individual and made an arrest. He is a registered sex offender and has been arrested for a violation of his probation and is being held in the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bail.

From the Anne Arundel County Police:

Through further investigation, detectives from the Southern District learned that the person of interest was a registered sex offender. Detectives from the Southern District worked closely with detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division along with agents from the Division of Parole and Probation and it was ultimately determined that the subject violated the conditions of his parole. As a result, agents from the Division of Parole and Probation applied for an arrest warrant, which was obtained on November 21, 2011. On November 21, 2011, at approximately 1:15 p.m., detectives from the Southern District P.A.C.T unit arrested James David Oliver, 62, of 3605 Evelyn Gingell Avenue in Edgewater on a violation of probation warrant at his residence. The suspect is currently being held without bail at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.
