Aquarium, Gulf Officials Discuss Oil Spill. The Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion and subsequent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has fallen from the headlines, but cleanup efforts are still under way.Officials from the Gulf region joined those in the conservation department at the National Aquarium on Thursday for a conference to discuss the damage done and how to prevent a similar disaster from happening in the future.

Police: Barber Sexually Abused Boy. Howard County police said a barber has been charged with sexually abusing a boy.Jung Gon Kim, 54, of Boyds, faces charges of sexual abuse of a minor, second- and third-degree sex offense, sodomy and second-degree assault.Police said a 13-year-old boy came forward to police last month to report the abuse. He had been a client of Scissors Sound Hair Salong on Plum Tree Drive in Ellicott City.

Student Stabbed At City School. A 10th-grade student was taken to Sinai Hospital after being stabbed at a city school Thursday afternoon. 11 News learned that the incident happened at The Baltimore Civitas School in the 2000 block of Edgewood Street.The student, a male, was stabbed in the stomach by a 14-year-old student, according to authorities.

Panel On Officer’s Death: Incident Lacked Police Management. The results of an independent review into the shooting death of Baltimore police Officer William Torbit were released Thursday, with the panel saying the incident that led to the officer’s death lacked a basic command structure.Fellow officers gunned down Torbit during a brawl outside a downtown night club on Jan. 9.
