Free Parking & Circulator In Annapolis

As part of his Economic Development initiative and ongoing efforts to support local business, Mayor Joshua J. Cohen is offering shoppers two hours of free parking in downtown Annapolis and free Circulator trolley rides through January 1.

“In keeping with an Annapolis holiday tradition that my friend, the late Mayor Al Hopkins started, I am pleased to announce we will be offering two-hours of free parking at metered spaces in the City. In addition we are making the Circulator trolley free so that locals and visitors can enjoy a nostalgic trolley ride to their favorite shops, restaurants and historic sites, then back to their car at no cost.”

The two hours of free parking is available at all two-hour metered parking spots on Main Street, Francis Street, West Street, Maryland Avenue, Prince George Street, City Dock and Market Space, as well as the Donner lot, adjacent to the former Fawcett’s on Compromise Street.

Please note the two hours of free parking is available only for the two-hour meters. The thirty-minute meters at the base of Main Street will only offer thirty-minutes of free parking. Whether the meter has a maximum time of thirty minutes or two-hours, you must move your vehicle after the allotted time. You are not allowed to leave your car in one spot all day. The posted time on the meter will be enforced.

The mayor is also offering free rides on the Circulator trolley through January 1. The Circulator trolley will quickly and efficiently move holiday visitors from the City’s four parking garages (Hillman, Gott’s, Knighton and Park Place) around the Central Business District, Westgate Circle to Memorial Circle, allowing the public to enjoy the shops, the historic charm, the maritime attractions and so much more.

You can catch the Circulator trolley by simply raising your hand and waving at one of the courteous drivers, who will pick you up and shuttle you to the Circulator stop closest to your holiday location.

The Circulator trolley will loop from the Westin Annapolis Hotel at Park Place, along West Street making stops at O’Callaghan Hotel and the Loews Annapolis Hotel, traveling around Church Circle and stopping at the Circuit Court building. It then travels down Duke of Gloucester Street, stopping at the historic City Hall on its way to St. Mary’s Street, then on to the Marriott Annapolis Waterfront Hotel. The Circulator also makes stops at City Dock and the Market House.

The Circulator trolley will then loop up Main Street, around Church Circle, passing the Governors Mansion as it travels out West Street, stopping at the Visitor Center and near the Arundel Center, before returning to the Gott’s and Park Place garages.

Please note- The Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is not in the Central Business District and will cost $2.00 per ride. Save yourself money and time by parking in the City’s garages. To find the garage locations and more on the Circulator trolley, go to http://bit.ly/rAmVuJ
