Unmarked Police Car Involved In Serious Crash

UPDATE: From the Anne Arundel County Police Department:

On October 7, 2011, at approximately 6:40 p.m., an on duty officer from the Eastern District was driving in the area of Fort Smallwood Road near Hilltop Road in Orchard Beach, when his police vehicle collided with another vehicle. The officer was transported to BWMC where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries and released. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to Harbor Hospital where she were treated for non life-threatening injuries and released.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the civilian vehicle failed to yield the right of way to the officer. The officer was traveling north on Fort Smallwood Road near Hilltop Road when the other vehicle pulled onto Ft. Smallwood Road causing the collision.

The officer is identified as Michael Morningstar, #1313. The other driver was identified as Ms. Naomi Leiben of the 1200 block of Rock Hill Rd., Pasadena.

At 6:45 PM tonight, an Anne Arundel County Police Department unmarked vehicle was involved in an accident with another vehicle in the area of Fort Smallwood Rd and Hilltop Rd in the Orchard Beach area of Pasadena. Additional police officers and Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded to the scene. Two people were transported from the accident to local hospitals.
