The Annapolis Art And Craft Sale At Maryland Hall For The Creative Arts

First Sunday Arts has teamed up with Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts and Warner Brothers, who are releasing the movie Happy Feet Two, to create The First Sunday Holiday Art Sale at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts. “It’s time to add a November First Sunday event” says Erik Evans, the festival’s Marketing Director. ” Artists and guests have been asking for this for years. The public wants to buy unique and original locally-made gifts for the holiday season.”
Over 900 artists and crafters have showcased their work at the First Sunday Arts festivals over the past 10 years.  Pam Godfrey Stevens, the Festival Coordinator, is hand-selecting artists to sell their work at the November 6th sale. The show will feature handcrafted jewelry, pottery, glass, wood-turning, children’s caps, clothing, feathery scaves, textiles, paintings, photography and more for sale. Attendees will also be able to visit the artists’ studios inside Maryland Hall, including Artist Patricia Tamariz for additional holiday shopping.
“Combining the best Maryland Hall artists’ work with the best of the First Sunday Arts makes sense for a Holiday Show,” says Linnell Bowen President of Maryland Hall. “The public will have a great opportunity at this event to purchase high-quality locally made gifts.” Having an Annapolis Art and Craft Sale at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts also gives the public the chance to see Maryland Hall’s new art exhibit in the Chaney Gallery, called “Handmade Textiles: Past and Present.”  Plus the Maryland Hall Box Office will be open for the public to get tickets at  to see some of this fall and winter’s best local performances and shows.”
To top off the day there will be free musical entertainment and artist demonstrations all day long. The entertainment schedule is:
  • Noon to 1:15 – Tom Lagana – Jazz/classical guitarist
  • 1:45 to 3:15 – Anastasia Pike – harpist from Peabody Preparatory
  • 3:45 to 5:00 – Mike Noonan – Jazz pianist
  • Noon to 5:00 – Demonstations of lace making, crochet, hand spining of wool, knitting, rug hooking and weaving on the loom.
For the kids, Warner Brothers Studios is flying in from Hollywood your favorite Penquins from the Sequel to the Academy Award®-winning animated hit Happy Feet. so bring the kids and your camera for a chance to have your picture taken with these Stars.
