Skate With Louie

The Bowie Baysox and their lovable green mascot, Louie, announce today a special fall event for members of Louie’s Kids Club.  Louie invites club members to join him for a roller skating party Sunday, November 6, at Skate Zone in Crofton, Md., from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Baysox Director of Marketing Brandan Kaiser planned the event with Louie.  “Louie is excited to see all his friends in the kids club,” Kaiser said.  “Since the season ended Louie has missed his friends so he hopes everyone will have a chance to skate with him or attend one of the other off-season events.”

The party is open to all club members and their families.  Tickets are $6.50 for all kids and adults who intend to skate, and Louie will be raffling prizes throughout the event.  The ticket includes skate rental and the facility has skates to accommodate kids as young as three years old.  Louie and the Baysox are only available until the party officially ends at 3:30 p.m., but guests are invited to skate until the facility closes.  To order tickets, fans may call Kate at (301) 464-4855.  Tickets must be ordered by Wednesday, November 2, at 5 p.m.

Louie’s Kids Club is free and easy to join.  Fans ages three to 12 can sign up at www.baysox.com or at any Baysox home game.  The team hosts an exclusive kids club event each month of the season, and will be hosting several events during the off-season. Check www.baysox.com periodically during the off-season to stay up-to-date on the latest Louie’s Kids Club events.

Baysox Community Programs Manager Kate Milstead reports that Louie has been especially disciplined in his off-season workouts this year. “Watch out for Louie on skates! I think he’s faster and fitter than he’s even been,” Milstead commented. “Louie’s skating prowess can be attributed to the variety of workouts he incorporates to get in 60 minutes of physical activity every day through the Baysox Play Today program.”

The Play Today Program debuted in 2010 and encourages kids to get up, get out and get fit with 60 minutes of physical activity each day. Louie has been hard at work throughout the off-season preparing to launch a new-and-improved program next year. Make sure to watch www.baysox.com for Louie’s 2012 renovations to the Play Today Program.
