Troopers Identify Man Killed In Route 100 Crash. Authorities have released the name of a man that troopers said died in a crash after speeding and driving erratically on Route 100 in Anne Arundel County on Wednesday afternoon.Maryland state troopers said Bryan McNutt, 50, of Glen Burnie, Md., was identified through fingerprints. Troopers said he was speeding, refused to stop and moments later was fatally injured when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree.Troopers said a blue 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup truck was swerving back and forth within the travel lane. Justin Fohs, the trooper who was stationed in the area, said he could see the driver rapidly moving his steering wheel back and forth, causing the truck to swerve. The trooper measured the truck’s speed with his radar unit at 82 mph in a 55 mph zone.

State Partners With Facebook, Cartoon Network To Combat Bullying. Maryland’s governor and first lady are leading the charge against bullying, and on Thursday they picked one of the state’s high schools to promote their message.According to 11 News education reporter Tim Tooten, a recent report found that 17 percent of students across the nation have been bullied two or three times a month. The bullying is verbal, physical or online, Tooten said. On Thursday, Maryland joined forces with Facebook and the Cartoon Network to try and solve the problem. Tooten said one of Thursday’s real concerns was about cyber-bullying, or bullying over the Internet.

Prosecutors, Former Senator Spar At Currie Trial. Testimony in the political corruption trial of Sen. Ulysses Currie on Thursday included combative dialogue between prosecutors and one of his former Senate colleagues.The trial for Currie started last week in a Baltimore courtroom. He is accused of using his influence to benefit a grocery chain where he worked as a consultant. 11 News reporter David Collins said shortly after former state Sen. John Giannetti settled into the witness stand, the line of questioning and answers became combative.

Police Probe More Charles Village Violence. For the second time in a week, city police are investigating reported violence in the Charles Village section of Baltimore.Police told 11 News that a 22-year-old man was shot shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday in the 2600 block of St. Paul Street. The victim was shot while leaving a friend’s house. Authorities told WBAL’s Lowell Melser that the incident was initially a robbery and that the victim complied with the robber’s demands but was still shot.
