Company Promised Visits From Ravens To Anne Arundel Schools.  School officials said a company promised hundreds of students a visit from a National Football League player — a visit that never happened.11 News education reporter Tim Tooten said students in several Anne Arundel county schools were told that a Baltimore Raven would come to the campus and talk with them about bullying and character. Maryland Tops Millionaire Rankings. Maryland has a slightly higher percentage of millionaire households than Hawaii.That’s according to a New York company that studies affluent households.Phoenix Marketing International released its annual ranking of millionaires per capita by state Thursday, with Maryland supplanting Hawaii by a fraction. Hawaii had led the rankings since 2008.Approximately 7.22 percent of Maryland’s households are millionaires, compared to 7.21 percent in Hawaii.

Several banks are preparing to charge monthly fees for debit card use — and some have already done so.Starting early next year, Bank of Americawill charge a $5 monthly fee to use its debit cards. “Bank of America’s fee is a fee too far,” said Ed Mierzwinski, director of the consumer program at the U.S. Public Interest Research Group. “Since Wall Street took over, the insistence on extra fees became outrageous and the banks can’t seem to make money any other way then to nickel and dime consumers.”

Powerball Surges past $200 Million.  The Powerball jackpot has surpassed the $200 million mark after there was no winner in Wednesday’s drawing.Wednesday night’s winning numbers were 1-18-21-39-55, and the Powerball was 6. The jackpot for the next drawing — set for Saturday night — is $203 million.The multistate Powerball game is played in 43 states and Washington, D.C.
