Amber Alert Issued For Boy, Mom Found Dead. Montgomery County police are investigating the killing of a Germantown woman and the disappearance of her son. Police said they found 51-year-old Jane McQuain dead in her bedroom in the 13100 block of Briarcliff Terrace about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Investigators said there was trauma to her body. Maryland State Police have issued an Amber Alert for McQuain’s 11-year-old son, William.Authorities said he was last seen at the home on Sept. 30. Police believe he was abducted.According to the Amber Alert website, the boy is 5 feet tall, about 85 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.Officials are still trying to determine who may have taken him. Police said Jane McQuain’s car is also missing. It’s a 2011 black Honda CRV with Maryland tags 5AG9405.

Pasadena Girl, 17, Dies In Single Car Crash. Anne Arundel County officials are investigating the cause of a crash that killed a 17-year-old girl Wednesday morning.Fire crews were called just after 7:30 a.m. to the crash near the intersection of Mountain Road and Fairwood Drive in Pasadena.Police said Kala Marie Austin, 17, of Pasadena, was driving east on Mountain Road when she lost control of her car, crossed the road and hit an abandoned home.

Pat Modell, Actress & Wife Of Art Modell, Dies. Patricia Modell, the wife of former NFL team owner Art Modell and a longtime television actress, has died. She was 80. Mrs. Modell was pronounced dead about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Baltimore Ravensannounced after being contacted by Modell’s son. She had been hospitalized for about five months.”I was saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs. Patricia Modell. Tonight, my thoughts and prayers are with her loving husband, Mr. Arthur Modell, and their family,” wrote Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake in a statement released Wednesday evening.

O’Malley Formally Announces Redistricting Session. Gov. Martin O’Malley has formally announced that a special session on congressional redistricting will begin next week.O’Malley issued an executive order Wednesday. It calls for the session to begin Monday in Annapolis.The timing of the session has been known for months, and the executive order is a formality.Maryland must pass a congressional redistricting plan before the start of the 2012 legislative session in order to conduct the presidential primary on April 3, 2012. Early voting centers will be opening March 24.
