Glen Burnie Man Charged With Armed Robbery, AssaultAnne Arundel County police have arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery.Police said 25-year-old Joshua Whittington approached a man walking in the 400 block of Old Stage Road in Glen Burnie about 9 a.m. Monday and pulled out a knife.Whittington then forcibly took money from the man’s pockets before running away, police said.

New Retailers Coming To Arundel Mills.  As construction of the Maryland Live! Casino continues next to Arundel Mills, the area around the Hanover mall is changing its look. Two stores will open in Arundel Mills this month, and two more will open in November. Combined with the six businesses that opened in the mall since July, the additions will result in more than 100 new jobs. Additionally, Annapolis-based Hogan Cos. recently sold a 1.77-acre parcel near the intersection of Arundel Mills Boulevard and Dorsey Road.

Latest Baltimore Grand Prix Results Show Mixed Results.  Hard numbers are starting to trickle in about last month’s Grand Prix race in Baltimore.11 News I-Team lead investigative reporter Jayne Miller is looking into whether the numbers meet expectations about the impact of the inaugural event. The whole picture about the race’s effect is delayed until at least Oct. 24, Miller said, but information about how many hotel rooms were used during Grand Prix weekend is available and a solid indicator of the event’s draw to visitors.

Walmart Victim’s Parents Defend Suspect. The parents of one of the people involved in an incident that forced the evacuation of a Walmart came to court Tuesday — to support the suspect.Theresa Monique Jefferson will remain held on $350,000 bond, it was decided in court. She is accused of pouring bleach and Pine-Sol on another woman during a Saturday morning fight at the Walmart at Lansdowne Station.
