Yesterday, the Johnson-Goslee family from Mardela Springs, Maryland was made very happy due to the generosity of ABC Television, the locally owned Fusion Companies, many other contractors, and literally thousands of volunteers.

Wyzhir Johnson-Goslee lost his arm in a construction accident while trying to repair his existing home just before Christmas 2010. The home was in disrepair and did not have any functional plumbing, unsealed windows, and a roof prepared to collapse.  Over the course of 106 hours, The Fusion Companies, led by Annapolitans Wes Sims, Josh Sims, and Michael Sponseller demolished the house and replaced it with a 2000 sf near-zero energy home!

The home is beautiful, inside and out. Eye On Annapolis had access to the site and interior (interior photos were prohibited by ABC) and this home will definitely transform their lives.  There were some surprises along the way. Wyzhir did not want to go on vacation and stayed behind to help with the new home for a few days.  While they were gone, Salisbury University granted two full scholarships to Wyzhir and his sister, Renee to the University.

At 5:30pm yesterday afternoon, thousands of spectators began chanting (after several takes–this IS television remember) “Move That Bus” as the Johnson-Goslee family saw their new home for the first time. The cast and crew of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition including Ty Pennington, Paige Hemmis, Ed Sanders, Johnny Littlefield and Michael Maloney greeted the family surrounded by cheers from nearly a thousand volunteers and well wishers!

But the surprises did not end there, and unfortunately, we were sworn to secrecy, so you will have to tune in for the show when it airs. Typically they air the shows 6-8 weeks after completion, however, this one may be pushed back to the week before Christmas. But until then, enjoy some of the photos taken while on site.
