We Care And Friends Dollar Days

| September 14, 2011, 11:00 AM | 0 Comments
Local non-profits are having a hard time keeping the doors open and continuing support as the public and private funding is diminished. We Care and Friends Director, Larry Griffin, is hitting the streets next Tuesday through Thursday, September 13-15th, in Annapolis for “Dollar Days” to raise money for his organization. Larry says, “We know the economy is tight but it is not so bad that we can not give up a dollar to help somebody.” If you see Larry on the streets, hand him a buck, because we believe every dollar counts to helping those in need.
We Care and Friends, a 501c3 non profit, was established in 1990 by Larry Griffin to provide dignity and resources to those in need. We Care and Friends is the “place to go” for people who have no where else to turn for food, housing, clothing, drug treatment, family counseling, and employment in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County.
We Care and Friends is the center of activity for assistance, classes, community events, or counseling in the Stanton Community Center in Annapolis and has helped thousands of people by…
  • Going out on the streets to talk with people about their lives
  • Helping people find the proper resources for housing, work, clothing, and food
  • Empowering and mentoring for youth
  • Helping people with drug addiction to find and fund long term treatment
  • Supporting people returning to the community from drug rehabilitation programs or prison
  • Providing confidential, free support to individuals and families in need
Upcoming Events:
  • Tuesday-Thursday, September 13-15, Dollar Days fundraiser of going out in the streets to ask people for a dollar donation to We Care and Friends
  • Saturday, September 17, Clothing and Back to School Event at Stanton Community Center in partnership with Downtown Hope
  • Sunday, September 18, We Care and Friends Cocktail Party and Fundraiser at the Annapolis Maritime Museum from 4-8pm for $100 per ticket
  • Monday, November 21, Thanksgiving for those in need at the Stanton Community Center with over 2,000 dinners served.
  • Saturday, December 24, Holiday party providing gifts for those families with children in need
