Volunter Project Hall Of Fame Awards

The 2011 Volunteer Project Hall of Fame Awards, sponsored by the Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County and the Coordinators of Volunteers of Anne Arundel County (COVAAC) will again honor volunteer projects that have had the most impact in Anne Arundel County and the City of Annapolis.

Christine Poulsen, program manager and head of community initiatives for Anne Arundel County Social Services will be The Keynote Speaker celebrating this year’s inductees into the Volunteer Project Hall of Fame.

Award winners will be announced at the Luncheon Celebration to be held at Yellow Fin Steak & Fish House in Edgewater, MD on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 11:30 – 2 pm.

“The bottom line is volunteering isn’t just nice, it’s necessary to solve some of our toughest social challenges,” said Tony Pica, Northeast Market President of Capital One Bank. “As the Host Sponsor for this exciting event, Capital One Bank is pleased to honor the many volunteer projects that will be inducted into this year’s Hall of Fame and we are hoping that other companies and organizations will join us to make this celebration a big success.”

The event will also include a live auction of two locally significant sports items: 4 rounds of golf at The Golf Club at South River donated by The Brick Companies and 2 tickets to the Washington Redskins v. Dallas Cowboys game at FedEx Field on Nov. 20, 2011 (with parking pass) donated by Volunteer Center Board Member Susan Zuhowski. A select silent auction will also benefit the Volunteer Center and COVAAC.

Businesses and organizations from throughout the county are invited to bring their staff, board members, and volunteers to the induction lunch. Reservations are $ 35.00 each and must be made by Noon on Monday, November7, 2011.
