House Flooded? Be Ready For Mold. Health officials in Maryland are reminding residents to be aware of potential mold and mildew that could crop up due to flooding from the heavy rains.People across the region are dealing with flooded basements and soggy carpets after Hurricane Irene last week and as the remnants of Lee make their way up the Interstate 95 corridor this week.Howard County health officials said mold and mildew spores can present themselves after storms and floods. The spores can cause allergic reactions and damage homes and household goods.

2 Rescued From Gushing Water On Road In Anne Arundel. Anne Arundel County officers were able to rescue a 68-year-old woman and 63-year-old man from gushing water on the side of a road early Thursday.Lt. Steve Thomas and Cpl. Erica Heinecke went to the area of Burns Crossing Road and Old Mill Road in Severn at about 1:20 a.m. Police said the roadway was “completely eroded” and that several feet of water was gushing from Old Mill Road across Burns Crossing Road. The stranded couple had left their vehicle and were holding onto a guardrail on the shoulder of the road for support against the water.

Estimates: Grand Prix Boosted Baltimore Hotels Everyone from City Hall to race organizers said Baltimore’s inaugural Grand Prix race weekend was a huge success.But did the race deliver on promises of infusing millions into the local economy? It’s a question the 11 News I-Team’s David Collins looked into Thursday. Collins said downtown hotels took the checkered flag as the big winners, according to preliminary data that was released Thursday.

Flooding Delivers Damage, Outages, Sewage; One Dead. Heavy, steady rainfall this week spawned tornado warnings, prompted evacuations, damaged roadways and property and knocked out power. The floods are also believed to have caused at least one death in Maryland. In Anne Arundel County, crews responded to the 400 block of Riverside Drive in Pasadena at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday to find Daniel Lambert, 49, in flood waters. Lambert was taken to a hospital in cardiac arrest, where he died.Police are also investigating this discovery of a body found in flood water Thursday in the area of Back River Bridge in Dundalk.
